The Ursids originate from debris left behind by the comet 8P/Tuttle. As Earth passes through this trail of cosmic dust, tiny particles enter our atmosphere at high speeds and burn up, creating bright streaks of light. These meteors are often slow-moving and bright, making them easier to spot even in less-than-perfect conditions
